Workplace Communication

Most of us are constantly connected to our devices throughout the day and are seldom without the ability to communicate. The following infographic shows the volume of activities, that are occurring as you read, within every minute on the Internet:

It is interesting to note that although email is one of the most inefficient tools for collaboration in the workplace, it`s still a predominant tool used for communication in the workplace. We are relying disproportionally on old methods of communicating while technology has provided workplaces with newer and more collaborative systems.

According to an analysis done by the McKinsey Global Institute “The average interaction worker spends an estimated 28% of the workweek managing e-mail and nearly 20% looking for internal information or tracking down colleagues who can help with specific tasks.” Even if most employees at an establishment are doing their jobs well, from an organizational perspective their productivity can be 0 or negative. To keep productivity levels up, digital competence must be a priority for organizations.

How can your company embrace more efficient methods?
